Moodbidri, Oct 31: The parish feast of Holy Rosary church, Alangar, near here, was celebrated with great devotion on Wednesday October 29.
Fr John D’Souza, dean of Moodbidri deanery offered the festive Eucharistic Mass along with Fr George Santhumayer, superior, Carmelite Monastery, Carmel Hill, Mangalore, Fr Vincent D’Souza, parish priest, Holy Rosary church, and several other priests.
Fr Santhumayer, in his meaningful homily, stressed the need to seek Mother Mary’s intercession in our daily trials and tribulations by reciting the rosary. He also urged the faithful to pray for restoration of peace in the troubled state of Orissa.
Fr Vincent D’Souza thanked the parishioners and priests for participating in large numbers in the festive mass. Fr John D’Souza released the parish bulletin ‘Alangarche Abole’ during a stage programme held later.
Bulletin editor Edward Serrao, sub-editor Herald Tauro, parish council vice-president Clifford Monteiro, secretary Valerian Sequeira, and MLA Abayachandra Jain, were present on the dais.
