Mangalore: Student Injured as Pistol Goes Off

Mangalore, Oct 30: A postgraduate student of a private dental college at Deralakatte on the outskirts of the city reportedly sustained bullet injury on his chest when a pistol in his pocket went off accidentally on Wednesday, police sources said.

The student has been identified as Kishore George (26), a second year Master of Dental Surgery student. He is a native of Kanhangad in Kerala. However, he was living at Attavar in the city and he is reportedly having a licence to keep a pistol. He has been was admitted to a private hospital at Deralakatte. Sources quoting doctors of the hospital said that he is out of danger.

The police have not registered any case. The student did not file any complaint to this effect, sources said.

    I fully admire the comments made by Sourya Prakash, nobody can harm us if we are good, so no sign of any insecure feelings, people with goondaraj history like Raj only carry weapons to give others pain

    When police are unable to protect the public, Pistol licences should be given to everyone to protect themselves.

    Student must be from “Goondas” / political background ( family ! ) If they are security risk to the people how come they are free from feeling of insecurity? . If you are not threat to anybody, nobody is threat to you ! its that simple.!

    First of all Case should be registered against Parent who Purchased the Gun and then against the Licensing Officer for issuing Pistol licence to a Student.
