Udupi, Sep 9: Pranav, a member of Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Tanda demanded an apology from a youth named Vignesh Kamath for posting false statement against the troupe.
It may be recalled that Vignesh Kamath recently had shared a report published in one of the online media on donations and posted an image of Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Tanda on social media. Below the image he commented ‘Also recommended ban on these kind of Avatars which relates anything to Sri Krishna Ashtami. It never represents anything. Please do comment if am wrong. #Udupians. Please comment.”
On September 8, Pranav, a member of Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Tanda in a press meet said, “Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Tanda Chitpady is an artiste team, which collects donation for noble cause. The troupe members wear unique costumes’ on the occasion of Sri Krishna janmashtami and collect donations to help the sick and needy children. Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Thanda has donated Rs 2. 30 lac in the first year and has donated Rs 2.10 lac in the second year.”
“Vignesh maligned our image by posting wrong statement on social media and he made false allegation on us. We are doing social service. It is not an easy to wear these costumes and raise funds. We spend in making our costumes and we also need to afford travelling. There is hard work behind the cause. If he has evidences to prove his allegations, let him present it. Otherwise he must apologize to us. If he failed to prove that we are misusing the funds, we will book a defamation case against him.”
Pranav further said, “This year the troupe collected Rs 2 Lac and we have decided to donate it to 10 sick and needy children. We wanted to entertain the people and there is no other bad intention behind our theme.”
Annayya Serigar, president of Babbuswamy temple, Bhimraj, Shridhar Devadiga, social worker Nithyananda Olakadu and Vishu Shetty Ambalpady were present.
