Panaji, Sep 3 (TOI): Rubbishing speculations about former chief minister and Congress leader Digambar Kamat joining BJP, state Congress president Girish Chodankar called it a “campaign by the BJP and its alliances who are using their social media team to keep their flock together by using the names of Digambar Kamat and others”. “It is a deliberate attempt by the BJP and its alliances to buy time. It’s quite evident that it is manufactured and deliberately circulated and some are earning money from that,” Chodankar said.
When asked whether Congress leaders have check with Kamat about the issue, he said they hadn’t.
“To ask him would mean to unnecessarily show confidence in the message. We are aware of the fact that our opponents know how to use the social media to malign us,” he said, hitting out at Vishwajit Rane for his statements in the past about three Congress MLAs meeting BJP national secretary Amit Shah.
