CM Parrikar flies to US for treatment, Cong says Goa administration unstable

Panaji, Aug 30(PTI): Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today left for the United States for medical treatment, an official said.

Opposition Congress on Wednesday demanded that the Goa CM should hand over the charge to someone as the state's administration is in doldrums.

Parrikar, 62, who was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for a review health check-up on August 23, flew to the United States for medical treatment today.

"The state is in self-imposed emergency situation with no one to man the affairs of the state. High time the charge of CM is handed over to someone or let this alliance quit the government as they have failed to run the government for last six months," Goa Congress chief Girish Chodankar said.

The chief minister's office should disclose the facts about Parrikar's health and should put out a detailed "health bulletin", he demanded.

With uncertainty about Parrikar's health and his absence from the state, there has been "complete constitutional failure as well as administration failure" in the state, Chodankar claimed.

Many portfolios are still not filled, and as Parrikar is unwell since February and has remained out of Goa frequently (for treatment), he should hand over the charge to some other minister, the Congress leader demanded.

The BJP is not willing to hand over the charge to somebody else due to "dearth of people with leadership quality" and the fear that there would be a rebellion in the party, he claimed. Majority of portfolios are handled by the chief minister, he pointed out.

Blessed to be in a foreign country??
See what we do in India.
Wake up at 6.00. jog for half an hour. play for one hour. have breakfast with the family peacefully, go to office. Afternoon, if there we attend our friends' wedding too. we have a beer too and take a small nap in the afternoon. After office, we meet with our friends, have one or two pegs in a bar, go home, go out for a dinner.

Absolutely correct truth teller, Karnataka. Why CM Parrikar is wasting our valuable money for the treatment in US. Is he getting free treatment?

Ramdev Baba also gone to foreign country for his treatment. Then why these people are calling other faith people as foreigner?

They advise others, India is very better for everything. Why these VIP peoples are running to the US, London to treat for the sickness. India is not better for them?

How much they love their own life but neglecting others. How many times he is running to US? Parrikar come back and take treatment in India. Give the money to poor people to have their treatment in India.

    David,
    For break fast no problem
    - Neer dosa
    - Upma
    - Bajil
But when in bar and restaurant
All the above items do not match their aptitude.
    Rest you would understnd.
Dinner time one or two pegs must. Then any thing will follow.

All these Ayurvedics/Yogis/Gurus/Sadgurus when talk about our centuries old traditional 'best practices' invariably belittle western medicine, but when they themselves fall sick, quietly find solace in western medicine. Once they recover, again start bad-mouthing west in an attempt to promote Swadesi. If this isn't hypocrisy, wonder what else is?

    Henry,
Please bear in mind that the foreign cows do not fall under Hindutva rule principles.
Also, why all such BJP members do not encourage or follow the slogan to follow:-
'Make in India or made in India’. Is there no faith in Indian doctors?
When the question of life saving they compromise anything because human life is precious. To lynch they care a hoot.

For the argument sake what you say is right but not for Mr.Parriker. He is a right person and doesn't even travelled to his CM office by government vehicle. He never looted the state like our Ex..EX..CM's. Nice person with good qualities but in a wrong party. May almighty bless him speedy recovery and good health.
