Bengaluru, Aug 15: Minister for primary and secondary education of government of Karnataka, N Mahesh has ordered the commissioner of public education department to submit a report within 15 days after thoroughly verifying the quality of socks and shoes that are given to students of government schools in the state.
The minister had received complaints about the quality of shoes and socks that are provided for the students studying in government schools through the school development and management committee. The minister had paid a surprise visit to the government school in Kollegal taluk center and had checked the quality of the shoes and socks of the students personally. During this time it was unearthed that the students have been provided with second quality shoes and socks of a certain company.
The minister had called a meeting of concerned officials including the commissioner of the public education department and the chief secretary of the state in the city and had collected all the information with regard to the distribution of shoes and socks to students.
