Udupi, Aug 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde and MLA Raghupathi Bhat revealed the names of candidates contesting the local bodies’ election.
Addressing media at the district BJP office here on Monday, August 13, Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde said, “Most of the candidates are fighting elections for the first time. Women are contesting in 17 places out 35 in Udupi and the rest of the places are given under reservation. This list also includes winners from 2003-08.”
MLA Raghupathi Bhat said, “People want to change the coalition government. People are exploited by the Congress. Common people cannot go to the municipality. People want BJP to win. Municipal authorities are exploiting general public. People under Congress government have to pay the highest taxes. This time, BJP will be win more than 28 seat.”
