Bahrain: Kannada Play ‘Kivudana Kitapati’ Spellbinds Jam-packed Audience

Bahrain, Oct 15: Although the island state is a small country among the GCC countries, its contributions to Kannada cultural activities by the expatriates are significant indeed.  Bahrain is in the forefront among the GCC countries in promoting Kannada culture.  I have seen whenever I have visited Bahrain and have even heard about it through the media. He was speaking after being honoured by Kannada Sangha of Bahrain recently in Bahrain

Walter Nandalike was felicitated by Association president Austin Santosh by presenting bouquet and memento. Karaval Konkans Association president Ronald D Souza and vice-president Ramesh Manjeshwar were also present.

Kivudana Kitapati Kannada play was translated from M Solanki’s original works by talented actor-director Anil Basagi who is the member of Kannada Sangha.

Anil not only directed the play but also played the lead role of the deaf which captivated the audience to the maximum. The play had the crisp and touching script by Kiran Upadhyay.  Jayaprakash, Doomanna Rai, Krishna Bhat, H K Pai, Sripati Acharya, Kiran Upadhyaya, T Jayasatyanarayan, Chethana Hegde, Chaitra Satish, Sudha Pai and others displayed a scintillating performance that had the audience in total amazement.

The two-and-half-hour play was indeed appreciated by each and everyone present there.

Earlier the programme began with the welcome address by Association deputy secretary Jayaprakash Salian. AnilBasagi introduced the artistes to the gathering.
 
In the end Association president Austin Santosh honoured all the artiste by presenting them with mementoes.
