Beltangady, Aug 8: The body of a youth was found floating in Guruvayanakere lake near here on Tuesday August 7. The deceased has been identified as Sudheesh (34), third son of V Dhanyakumar from Kadambu House in Kuvettu village in the taluk.

Some locals observed on Tuesday evening that a body was floating in the lake. They immediately conveyed the information to the police. A team of police led by police circle inspector from here, Nagesh Kadri went to the spot and arranged to bring the body out of the lake with the help of firemen and locals.

Doubts arose as to whether this is a case of suicide or death due to some other reason. It is suspected that the man had fallen into the lake two days back. The police here have registered a case and are investigating.

As the youth belonged to a prestigious family from Guruvayanakere, a large number of people thronged the place upon coming to know of his death. This brought traffic on state highway to a standstill. Traffic police from here too found it hard to control the traffic. The police had to wave their canes to disperse the crowd and pave way for the resumption of traffic.
