Mandya, Aug 5: The case of kidnap of K R Pet tahsildar, K Maheshchandra, is turning murkier with the passage of time on account of the different versions the official has been giving to the police about this episode.

It is said that on one occasion, the tahsildar told the police that he was abducted in a motor bike. On another occasion, during police questioning, he said he was taken in a car.

There are no marks of any kind of assault on his body. It is said that he once claimed that he was thrashed by his kidnappers. But after some time, he claimed he was not beaten up.

District superintendent of police, Amit Singh, said that the investigation will be continued after the official, who apparently is under mental pressure, meets his mother and gets a bit relaxed. The police are also looking into the possible angle of the kidnap having links to a woman.

Village accountant in the office of the K R Pet tahsildar filed a complaint about this abduction, and the police are probing the case on the basis of his complaint.
