Bengaluru: HC directs EC against publishing election dates for three corporations

Bengaluru, Aug 4: The state high court (HC) has directed the state election commission not to publish dates of election for Mysuru, Tumakuru, and Shivamogga city corporations.

The high court bench presided over by Justice B Veerappa, which completed hearing of petitions filed against the reorganization of wards of Tumakuru and Mysuru city corporations on Thursday, had reserved its orders. On Friday, it completed hearing of a similar petition filed relating to Shivamogga.

It asked the election commission not to publish dates of elections for these three city corporations till it announces judgement relating to the above petitions.
