Udupi: Dr Edward Lobo from Pangala parish appointed diocesan director of health commission

Udupi, Aug 2: Bishop of Udupi, Dr Gerald Lobo appointed Dr Edward Lobo from Pangala parish as director of the health commission in the diocese for a period of five years with effect from August 1.

The Bishop in a communique to Dr Edward Lobo stated, "It is CBCI's objective to have a commission in each diocese for an effective implementation of healthcare policies evolved by the competent ecclesiastical organization."



"Service to the sick is an intergral part of the mission of the Church and CBCI needs to encourage and collaborate with everyone involved in addressing the issue of healthcare, human dignity and inviolability of human life and fight against the threats and attacks against human life with their commitment to compassion and care.

As director of the health commission you will take into account the teaching of the Church, directives and health policies of the Catholic Church in India and the specific instruction of the diocesan bishop in carrying out the offce."
