Kundapur: Rape of lady at Yadtare four years back - accused held guilty

Kundapur, Aug 2: The additional district and sessions court here, which was hearing the case filed against Yogeesh (22) of Mandya origin, accusing him of raping a lady at Yadtare village four years back has held him guilty of the charge. The court said that it would announce the quantum of punishment on August 3.

Yogeesh had been accused of earning the trust of a lady working in a resort at Toodalli in Yadtare village, promising to marry and raping her, as a result of which she turned pregnant. The court found that the guilt of Yogeesh from K R Pet in Mandya district, who was working as driver of vehicle in that resort, has been proved.

The then Byndoor police circle inspector, Sudarshan, had held investigation in this case and filed charge sheet. Judge of the additional district and sessions court here, Prakash Khanderi, had conducted hearing. District public prosecutor, Prakashchandra Shetty had argued on behalf of the prosecution.
