Mandya, Aug 2: A second PU student of Mandavya Excellence PU College here was found to have ended his life inside his classroom on Wednesday August 1.

The victim has been identified as K S Niranjan (17), who was pursuing study in science subjects. He was staying in the hostel room located in the second floor of the same college building.

Reportedly, Niranjan was depressed at the recent demise of his maternal grandfather. He had returned to college after attending the post-funeral religious rituals of his grandfather held at his native place, on July 25.

In the mathematics test conducted in the college on July 26, he had scored very low marks. This development also is said to have played heavily on the teenager's mind. It is suspected that Niranjan could handle mental agony created by the above two developments which happened one after the other and decided to commit suicide.

Niranjan breathed his last on his way o the hospital. A case of unnatural death was registered in the rural police station here.
