Udupi: Vishwakarma Carpenters' Union demands arrest of hate mongers on social media

Udupi, Aug 2: Taluk unit of Vishwakarma Carpenters' Union urged district police to take stern action against social media message spreading hatred in the society.

Jayakar Bailoor, general secretary of the union addressing media on Wednesday, August 1 said, 'Vishwakarma community people are peace lovers and lead peaceful life in the society. But some communal people are disrupting peace posting wrong messages on social media about our work.



“Pradeep Shetty Kurkalu and Bharat Alva have posted insulting messages on social media about carpentry. It is an insult to Vishwakarma community too. It has defamed our dignity and we are disappointed seeing such messages. The police department must take against them and another Madhusudan Shetty for defaming our community,” he said.

Jayakar also urged the police to arrest the culprits and give justice to Vishwakarma community.

A copy of the memorandum was handed over to ASP demanding to file complaint against the culprits.

Gokul Acharya, Dr Gopal Acharya Balkur, H M Gangadhar Acharya, Ramesh Acharya, Achutha Acharya and others were present.
