Bantwal, Aug 1: Local MLA, Rajesh Naik, visited Akahara Bharathi school in Aladapadavu, Ajjibettu village in the taluk where three students had fought over trivial issue,  in which a student was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries.

On this occasion, he held meeting with parents, officials of education department, police, and management of the school. He instructed all the schools to take all kinds of care to ensure safety of students, CCTV cameras should be installed, and children protection committees should be formed as per government instructions. Failing compliance, he said, the block education officer should initiate departmental action.

Naik said that he has already collected all the details about the incident and he has also collected information about the health condition of the injured boy. He said he has been told that the parents of students involved have arrived at an understanding as per which the matter has been settled out of court. Noting that the student is out of danger now, he assured the student's parents of reimbursement of medical expenses if found necessary. He asked parents and teachers to counsel with students involved with this brawl and asked them to guide the younger generation properly. He said that the concerned should ensure that no friction takes place between students. He also took the education department, police and school administration to task for failing to keep him informed about the incident.

Naik warned the school administrative officer for using his name without authorization, duly noting that he had used the MLA's name when speaking to police and hospital authorities to pressurize them against registration of police case relating to this incident.
