Moodbidri, Oct 10: Poverty teaches such lessons that no university in the world can teach. Once one slips to poverty, it’s very difficult to rise again, said M Sukumar Rao, Mumbai customs superintendent, on Wednesday October 8.
He was speaking at the Sharada Mahotsav organized by Veera Maruti Seva Sangh, on Wednesday. The Seva Sangh deserves to be commended for organizing religious programmes during Navaratri Utsav, said Sucharita Shetty, president, zilla panchayat.
Inner wheel district president Shalini Harish Nayak, entrepreneur Vishwanath Prabhu, deputy tahsildar M S Nayak, Suresh Adyantaya, Dinesh Poojary, Satyanarayan Pai, and Chitra Shenoy, were present on the dais.
Prasanna Shenoy recited the prayers and compered the programme while Raghunath Bhat proposed the vote of thanks. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
