Mangalore, Oct 7: Through a press release, Mangalore unit of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) has informed that it would be organizing a 'Thanks-giving Program to God' and ‘Public Awareness Meeting’ on Thursday October 9 at 10 am, at the Infant Jesus Shrine Hall, Bikarnkatta here on the occasion of the completion of its Golden Jubilee Year in the city.
Alcoholism is a dreaded and mysterious menace of the society, which affects not only the immediate family of the alcoholics but also their relatives and friends adversely.
Many alcoholics have found relief to this problem, by continuously attending AA meetings and following its simple programme. All are invited to the awareness programme, especially social workers, suffering family members and those who would like to know more about this problem, which will be held from 11 am to 12 am at the same venue. Admission is free and anonymity will be maintained, the organization has said.
