Mangalore, Oct 7: St Vincent D'Paul Society (SVP) of Kinnigoli Church celebrated its patron Fredrick Ozanam's day here recently.
Members of the society offered morning mass and in a short programme held thereafter in the church hall, Fr Alfred Pinto, parish priest, Fr Melwyn Noronha, assistant parish priest, Lionel Pinto, vice-president of the pastoral council and Mabel D'Souza, secretary of the pastoral Council, were present. Fr Alfred Pinto, while congratulating the SVP Members for doing the good work for the poor and the needy people, explained that the society has done many good deeds by building houses and providing food grains and other things to the poor and advised the members to continue the good work of Fredick Ozanam. Gifts were given to the adopted families.
George Saldanha, president of the SVP, welcomed the gathering. Harry D'Souza proposed vote of thanks. Lawrence D'Souza compered the programme. The programme ended with a family meal with the adopted members of the SVP.
