Mangalore, Oct 7: Operations to find out more details of accomplices and connections the arrested terror suspects in Mangalore are continuing. On Monday October 6, the special investigating team from Mangalore led by inspector Venkatesh Prasanna searched a house located near Koppa, where Ahmed Bava, one of the arrested persons, used to live since some time. The house is located in a secluded place, and it is said, the inmates of the house who stayed there temporarily, did not mix freely with the neighbours.
The team broke open the lock of the house and verified the contents of the three suitcases found therein. The suitcases contained two drilling machines, about five kilograms of nails, glass splinters, wires, ammonium nitrate, bottles containing chemicals, gun powder, unique screw drivers, bolt kits etc. In addition, the team found an air gun, powerful bow and arrows and Islamic literature in Urdu and Arabic languages. The house bore the signs of the fact that explosives were being made here. The team took away all the items found in the house, and brought them to the city for further investigations.
Although the policemen had information that Bava used a laptop, the team did not find it during the search operation. A television set having dish connection was found. Cooking items, beds, clothes and a Hero Honda motor bike bearing registration KA 19 S 2467 were found, which were seized by the Koppa police.
Engineer Yaseen, Alibaba and his wife and an assistant named Razack, who used to live with Ahmed Bava, have gone missing since the pre-dawn raid by the policemen in Mangalore. They had told the neighbours that they would come back on Monday October 6, but did not turn up.
Koppa DySP Mallikrajun and circle inspector Ramachandra Nayak were present during the operation.
In the meantime, a team led by Mangalore South police station inspector Tilakchandra left for Mumbai to conduct joint investigation with the Mumbai police. DK District superintendent of police N Satheesh Kumar confirmed this information.
The Mangalore police conducted another search operation in the houses of Naushad and Mudassar in Subhashnagar, Pandeshwar in the city. The policemen found a hard disk in the house of Mudassar, which was handed over to the cyber police for verificiation.
