Mangalore: 'Sri Rama Sena Being Targeted by State Government'

Mangalore, Oct 5: The Sri Ram Sena has accused the state government of trying to suppress them. The allegation was leveled by Arun Kumar Puttila, convener, Sri Ram Sena, in a press conference on Sunday October 5.

He said that the BJP government is using the Hindu organization as a means to garner votes in the election by blowing up the situation. It is showing its wickedness, added Puttila. 

During the recent turmoil in the city, the state government showed its double standards by arresting Sena workers while the fault lay with Bajrang Dal activists, he said. The BJP government is dancing to the tunes of the Sangh Parivar, added Puttila. 

The ‘dattamala’ programme at ‘dattapeeta’, Chikmagalur, by the Sri Rama Sena will take place from Wednesday October 8 to Tuesday October 14 and 2,500 participants from the district are expected. Kumaraswamy, Prasad Attavar, and Kumar Malemar of the Sena, as well as Shivananda Prabhu of the Hindu Jana Jagrati Sangh were present at the press meet.

    Our GODS are all powerful & holy and don't need to be protected. Infact we are all at GODS' mercy and crave for his protection. Therefore a responsible Media should refrain from giving pubilicity to such 'senas' and self appointed 'vigilante groups'.

    Our Defence Ministry can employ these sena people for a short term say 5 years and give pension to them. In this way they can reder their service to the country and in return get life time pension.

    ANY SENA, OTHER THAN THE INDIAN NATIONAL ARMY SHOULD NOT BE HEARD OF IN INDIA. THERE COULD BE A SENA OF VOLUNTARY HUMAN SERVICE TO THE DOWNTRODDEN, UNEDUCATED. BUT THEY SHOULD NOT BE NAMED AS SENA. NOT EVEN THINK OF ANY THING LIKE THE HANUMAN SENA.THAT AGAIN PUTS US IN AN ANIMAL LEVEL. BUT THERE COULD BE ORGANIZATIONS IN OTHER NAMES THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE SERVICE THAT GROUP RENDERS TO THE UNFORTUNATE, AND UNLUCKY.

    THIS TERM "SENA" IS SO MISLEADING and DECEPTIVE THAT TODAY ANYONE CAN FOSTER, ADOPT AND BRING UP A SENA. INDIA IS NOW FREE, SECULAR COUNTRY AND THERE CAN BE NO SENA OTHER THAN THAT FIGHTS PAKISTAN OR CHINA OR BURMA OUR IMMEDIATE GOOD NEIGHBORS. HOW NARROW WE ARE IN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF NATIONALISM. JUST BECAUSE OF A MAJORITY OF A PARTICULAR SECT ONE COULD NOT ORDER, DICTATE AND LEGISLATE FOR EVERY ONE TO WALK NAKED IN THE STREETS. I AM USING A KIND OF EXTREME CONCEPT WHICH IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR THE HINDU FANATICS. BUT SUFFICES TO SAY WHAT I WANT TO SAY.

    We have Bharatiya Sena (Indian Army)to save our country, that is enough. Other than that how many senas? These senas and dals and other fanatic organisations have become a perennial pain in the neck. Do we need these. If these organizations really have the love for the motherland then send them to the Indian Border.

    When Vajpayee was the PM of India, some miscreants dug a cricket pitch, when the India Pak match was scheduled. Vajpayee challenged them and said, " Andhere me Pitch Khodna koyi Bahaduri nahi hai himmat hai to Bharatiya seema pe javo...So I do encourage all these senas to go to Bharatiya seema and prove their worth, rather than creating a nuisance in the country.

    This beloved mother land of mine is busy mushrooming different kinds of SENA everywhere!!!!! Now it is "Sri Ram Sena" then it is another "Shiv Sena," then again there is the Maharashtra Nav Nirman SENA and so on and so forth!!!!

    I wonder what has happened to the Bhartiya SENA! In the background of these afore said different SENAs in India do we need a Bharatiya SENA? Why spend so much money, life and energy to uphold a National army? If these different SENAs can work voluntarity to devide the country why employ the young of India in the Indian Army?

    Does the fededral government, or State government or any one like Gandhijee give a thought to these mushrooming Senas which are a threat to the national integrity and unity of the country? In Bombay one says "Bomaby does not belong to anyones FATHER and in reply to this one gets to hear "Bombay is neither your father's!!!! Now what all this means to a child who is just growing up and gets to read in the news papers and learns through the other media? What anyone thinks that we are doing to our young minds?

    I am, being an Indian, deeply concerned regarding the unity and integrity of my country India. When I was born, India was still a British colony. Now at this age I feel that India is the colony of these SENAS who profess individual, regional, linguistic, cultural, and what else kind of colony. Sardar Valabha Bhai Patel united post independnce India but Lal Krishna Advani and his allies are bent upon in dividing this one India. Is thare an anwer to this anguish of mine?
