Udupi, Oct 4: Now-a-days, the robbers seem to be not inclined to lose their sleep while on duty. They have chosen to conduct thefts during the day, as is evident from a spate of such incidents being reported of late. This way, they not only rob the things from the houses successfully, but also rob the sleep of those who are targeted by them.
On Friday October 3, they entered the house of M Raghuram Acharya located at Kukkikatte Srinagar on the outskirts of the town and took away gold ornaments worth around two lac rupees besides Rs 40,000 in cash.
Acharya along with his wife had gone to Pernanikila Lord Mahalingeshwara temple. The couple came back at 2.45 pm to find that the doors of the house had been broken by the thieves, who also robbed gold ornaments and cash as above.
Additional superintendent of police M N Nagaraj, DysP Vishwanath Pandit, circle inspector Ganesh Hegde etc., visited the place. A case has been registered with the town police station here.
