Udupi, Oct 2: Citing indiscipline on the part of deputy superintendent of police(DySP) M B Nagaraj, the state director general of police has through an order, suspended him from services until further orders.
District superintendent of police Pravin Pawar confirmed, that his office received the order on Tuesday September 30. He also added, that Karnataka Administrative Tribunal(KAT), which has been approached by Nagaraj for redressal of his grievances, is yet to pronounce its judgement.
It may be recalled, that the government had posted Vishwanath Pandit as DySP here, in place of M B Nagaraj. In the meantime, Nagaraj succeeded in securing a stay order against his transfer orders and continued to work here as DySP. While he worked from office, Pandit used to discharge his duties without attending the office.
During last week, the SP had ordered for locking up the office of the DySP and Nagaraj was compelled to work in a room outside his office. Nagaraj had complained about the step-motherly treatment meted out to him and that his salary and emoluments had been withheld and his vehicle and telephone had been taken away. He had also stated, that the KAT had through a judgement, ordered for his continuance in the present post. The stay order of the KAT had expired recently.
