Panaji, Jul 10 (IANS): Goa Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sudin Dhavalikar underwent a surgery at a Mumbai hospital and is recovering well, a family member said on Tuesday.
"He has undergone a surgery and is recovering well. All are sincerely requested not to speculate about his health. We are sure that the blessings of Goan people are with him and he is expected to be back to work in few days," the minister's brother Sandeep Dhavalikar said in a statement issued here.
Over the last six months, Sudin Dhavalikar has become the seventh sitting legislator to be hospitalised.
Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar was admitted to a Mumbai hospital last month, after he suffered a brainstroke.
He still remains in the hospital. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has taken temporary charge of the Power Ministry.
Other hospitalised ministers include BJPs Francis D'Souza, Carlos Almeida and Congress MLAs Isidore Fernandes and Pratapsing Rane.
