Mangalore, Sep 30: K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), organized a Heart-Health walk on Sunday September 28 in the city, to mark World Heart Day.
The walk was inaugurated by Krishna J Palemar, district-in charge minister, and was presided over by Vishal Hegde, trustee, Nitte Education Trust. The event was flagged-off around 8.00 am on Sunday from IMA Hall, Hampankatta, and attended by about 700 people.
The walk passed through Falnir road, Fr Muller circle, Karavali circle, and Mahaveera circle before concluding at the Pentagon Hotel. The walk was successful in its aim of stressing on the importance of precautions to be taken against heart ailments in one's daily life.
The participants in the walk included KSHEMA physicians such as Dr Satish Bhandary, vice-dean, Dr Prakash, head, department of medicine, Dr Gopalakrishna Mundyath, head, department of cardiac surgery, Dr Jayaprakash Shetty, medical superintendent, and Dr Jayaprakash Shetty, registrar, Nitte University, besides students and employees of the institution.
