Attacks on Places of Worship : Pejawar Seer on Fast

Udupi, Sep 30: Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math began his one-day fast to protest against the attacks on places of worship in the State here on Monday.

The fast which began at 1 p.m. on Monday will end at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

For peace

A press release issued by the Pejawar Math here stated that the seer had already announced that he would undertake a fast if there were attacks on places of worship.

He appealed for peace in society, the release added.

    Mr. Bharath Shetty, sitting in USA and commenting very negative does not yield any positive results. At least be positive and appreciate the good gesture done by the Seers. If those people never listen to Seers whom they will have respect? How can you judge others and come to the negative conclusion. Al least you be positive.

    Fully agree & support with Manohar Ritesh, Mangalore view. First of all Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math should take back his words uttered against Christian missionaries. Attend dialogue with Muslim and Christian leaders and give a stern warning to all fanatic group not to spread division and poison in the name of religion. Then this fasting will have meaning and will be appreciated by all the communities. Otherwise this is nothing but an eyewash.

    It is a good move, the seer being a holy man knows what it means to be desecrating the places of worship. He might have right intentions, others need not judge him, some of us could join him.

    Swamiji please do not align with the communal forces. please visit the christin sanyais and sanyasins ( priests and nuns) and the lay people who have been attacked and suffered and offer them your sweet words. Lord Krishna Bless u forever.

    These are preplaned attacks by anti-hindu elements and votebank politicians.Great step taken by Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji ..People should understand that Hinduss are not againt any religion but againt their illigal activities which is hurting majority of HINDUS.

    Great gesture by the seer! But before that he has done enough harm by issuing inflammatory statements against the Christians, alleged "forced" and "allured conversions", and withdrawing Hindu children from Christian institutions! Hence, before the fast, it would be very appropriate for him to apologise to the minorities. Afterall the RSS ideology is bred in the Hindu maths! Would the seer accept this? Else it would render the fast only a farce.

    I welcome the move by Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math's one-day fast to protest against the attacks on places of worship in the State. Is there a comparison of similar kind of gestures in India by religious persons of other community to wards Hindus? Every one woke up only when their religious places were vandalised. This is true Hinduism. Tolerence towards other religion.

    In couple of places some miscreants did (to defame hindus) intentionally. Seer can not stop such people by fasting and those people never listen to seer.
