Udupi: KFD Activists Attack Family Over Road Accident Dispute

Udupi, Sep 28: KFD activists attacked assaulted three persons of a family on Thursday September 26 at Mattupatna, in Hejamady near here, including a woman who resisted their attack. 
 
The elderly woman was critically injured following an accident with a motorbike driven by one Rameez cycle on Thursday on Hejamady fisheries road. However, when passerby Kiran, saw the injured woman in the middle of the road with Rameez busy talking on his mobile, he demanded that the latter take her to a hospital. Rameez  refused and the locals who had gathered there attacked the motorcyclist.


 
In the evening, some youths arrived where at Kiran was staying and on the pretext of discussing the accident, began assaulting him. Around 15 KFD activists were involved in the incident and they also attacked Kiran’s sister Pavitra and brother-in-law Girish K Suvarna, at whose residence he was staying. 
 
The miscreants then left as the locals prepared for retaliation. Kiran, Girish, and Pavitra, were later admitted to a hospital. The police patrol in the locality has been intensified to dissuade any further attacks and Hejamady police have registered a case.
