Goa Police constable booked for biting village Sarpanch


Panaji, July 1 (IANS): Police in South Goa on Saturday filed an FIR against a constable for biting a village Sarpanch's arm following a dispute over an illegal water connection, an official said.

The accused Genu Velip, a police driver, has been booked under section 324 (causing hurt), after he bit the arm of Cotigao Sarpanch Umesh Gaonkar twice following the altercation on Saturday.

"We are obtaining the bite marks of the accused as per dental forensic procedure. The marks will be used to match those on the complainant's arm," police officer Rajendra Prabhudessai told IANS.
