Udupi, Sep 24: Vishwa Hindu Parishat district president Ramachandra Rao and Bajrang Dal convener Diwakar Bhandary have demanded for the immediate arrest of Congress general secretary Margaret Alva for issuing provocative statements even after peace meeting between different communities struck an agreement on the issue.
They also have condemned the police action in arresting Bajrang Dal state convener Mahendra Kumar, instead of taking action against those who are involved with the distribution of the book, 'Satyadarshini'that projects Hindu Gods in poor light. Mahendra Kumar has been charged under a provision of law pertaining to issuance of provocative statements, which he has not done. He only revealed that the said book is being distributed, hurting the Hindu sentiments, they said, and demanded his early relese.
BJP district general secretary Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde in a release, said that the Congres envies the record of the BJP in efficiently ruling both the centre and five states so far, proving its credentials. The Congress wants to hold the BJP government responsible for everything, out of this envy, he charged.
The Congress is overlooking serious lapses of various governments like the cases of naxal, Bodo and ULFA militants in the north east, butchering of Hindus in Kashmir and serial blasts at Delhi. It has failed to react to these incidents but wants to project Orissa and Karnataka as the villains now, he said.
Veerappa Moily himself had asserted that there is a need to strengthen the laws pertaining to control terrorism and destructive activites, as the chairman of the Central Administrative Reforms Commission. On the other hand, he opposed the POTA enacted by the BJP government headed by Vajpayee. Janardan Poojary and Moily are trying to appease the top leaders of their party and indirectly encouraging conversions by making allegations against the Sangh Parivar outfits, he said.
H D Kumaraswamy had hailed Dr V S Acharya, who was a minister in his cabinet, as a statesman and experienced administrator, addressing a joint conference of the assembly then. He has changed colours now, and has branded Acharya as the weakest and inexperienced minister. The JDS leaders are engaged in political stunts to serve their own purposes, Hegde ridiculed.
Hegde has wished, that the parties concerned will desist from issuing irresponsible statements till the judicial probe ordered by the state brings out truth.
