Udupi, Jun 20: On behalf of Deepak Hegde, who is an accused in the case of murder of cattle trader, Hussainabba (62) near Shenarabettu in Perdoor village in the taluk, and who is currently in judicial custody, a bail application stands moved in the court of the district chief judicial and sessions court here.
Senior advocate, Arun Bangera, moved the bail application on behalf of Hegde on Tuesday June 19. The court has set June 20 for filing of objections. Deepak, listed as the 15th accused in the case, also faces charges of sale of cow and murder. He currently stands lodged in the district prison at Mangaluru.
On Monday, the court had dismissed bail applications filed by eight out of 11 accused in the case, including that of police sub-inspector of Hiriadka police station. This is the first bail application being moved by Deepak.
On Monday, the court had granted bail to arrested accused, head constable, Mohan Kotwal, Bajrang Dal activist, Prasad H Kondady, and Tukaram, who is absconding and who had filed for anticipatory bail, in this case.
