Mangalore, Sep 22: A talk on 'Travel and Tourism of Dakshina Kannada,’ organized by the International Institute for Public Policy (IIPP) was held in the city on Sunday September 21.
Melisha Noronha from Bangalore spoke on the topic and said that any new thing which comes into Dakshina Kannada is resisted by the people here. The people's mindset should be changed to promote tourism in the region, she said.
Noronha added that poor administration has hindered the development of tourism in the district with tourist spots in the district managed poorly. Proper management of tourist attractions can increase tourist traffic in the district, she opined.
Max Rasquinha, head of IIPP, presided over the function. Savitha Shenoy and Anita Cordeiro coordinated the programme. Representatives of various travel and tourism organizations participated in the talk.
