Davanagere: Car hits divider - two lose lives instantly

Davanagere, Jun 15: Two persons including the grandson of a former MLA died on the spot in a road accident which occurred near Bada Cross in the outskirts of the town on the night of Wednesday June 13 on national highway 4.

One of the deceased, Jaideep Gowda happened to be the son of Dr Prakash Gowda, working as professor in a medical college at Shivamogga.

Jaideep Gowda (28), grandson of former MLA, Basavana Gowda, and his friend, Sarovar Satyanarayana (24) from the town were the unfortunate victims of this accident. Both were BBM degree course students at Dawan College in the town.

The two friends were coming to the town from Chitradurga late night on Wednesday when the car which was moving at high speed went out of control of its driver and hit the road divider. The car then jumped over the divider and got deposited on the other side of the road. At that instant, a truck moving on the other side of the road mowed into the car. The car then somersaulted and fell on the side of the road. Bodies of both the friends were torn into pieces as a result of this accident.

The lorry driver and cleaner too were injured in the accident. Both are being treated in a hospital here.
