Beltangady: Head teacher of government school dies when moving by bike

Beltangady, Jun 12: Aswhathappa (43), head teacher of Mura Buleri government primary school in Mogru village in the taluk suffered heart attack when riding his motor bike, and lost his life. This incident happened on the afternoon of Monday June 11.

Ashwathappa was a native of Kolar. Since the last 16 years, he had been working in different schools in the region in the capacity of teacher, and had been promoted three years back as head teacher. On promotion, he had been posted to the government school at Mura Buleri.

He had started his journey to a bank branch in the taluk headquarters here relating to the bank account of the school when he suffered chest pain. He felt that the pain would go off on its own and continued his journey by two-wheeler. However, when passing through in front of the post office at Ilanthila village, he collapsed. The locals immediately took him to a private hospital at Uppinangady but the doctors said he had already breathed his last.

Ashwathappa had worked in Mura Buleri school upon his first appointment as teacher, and had worked there for eight years. He was posted to the same school as headmaster after working  in Karaya and Ujirebettu schools three years ago. He was unmarried.

Students of the school and their parents who rushed to the hospital, could be seen sobbing inconsolably at the demise of a popular teacher who was close to everyone.
