Puttur: 60-year-old woman commits suicide

Puttur, Jun 6: In an incident which happened at Addahole in Shiradi village in the taluk, a woman ended her life by consuming poison on Tuesday June 5.

The deceased was Mary (60), wife of the late Patrose. Mary used to stay in her daughter's home. She consumed the acid that was procured for making rubber sheets, on Tuesday afternoon, and fell seriously sick. She was immediately taken to a hospital at Nelyady but her life could not be saved.

It is gathered that Mary was suffering from chronic waist pain. Son-in-law of the deceased, U T Mathew, in a report filed in Uppinangady police station, said that Mary was fed up with the suffering she was going through on this account.
