Mangalore, Sep 16: The 22nd batch of BSc Nursing students and the 21st batch of PCBSc students at Fr Muller College of Nursing was inaugurated on Monday September 15.
The inauguration was done by lighting a traditional lamp. Fr Stany Tauro, administrator, Fr Muller Medical College Hospital, Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator, Fr Muller Medical College, College of Nursing, and School of Nursing and Allied Sciences, Prema D’Souza, vice-principal, College of Nursing, Susy George , class coordinator, first year BSc Nursing, Anita Roshini Das, class coordinator, first year PCBSc, and two student representatives from the new batch lit the lamp.
The programme began in the Academy Hall with the institutional anthem followed by an invocation dance by senior students and a concluding prayer. Prema D’Souza welcomed the gathering and assured the parents that their children are in the best hands with regard to their future.
Fr Denis D'Sa, instead of addressing the gathering, preferred to interact with the students. He put the students at ease and spoke to them about the values and ethos of being a true Mullerian. A 12-minute documentary on Fr Muller Charitable Institutions was screened for the new batch so that they could get an idea about this great institution.
After refreshments were served, the freshers introduced themselves. The programme concluded with an interactive session with the students and their parents.
