Mangaluru, May 21: An MCF employee who was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital after a lorry rammed into his bike in the rear on May 19, died later in the night without responding to treatment.
The deceased was Mudipu Kodakkal resident Mahesh Bhat Kodakkal (32). The accident happened at Kottara here in the morning on May 19.
He was staying in a rented accommodation at Shakthinagar here with his wife and one and a half year old child.
He was on the way to work on the fateful day as usual on his bike. He dropped his wife at B Ed college near Nanthoor and continued his journey towards MCF. The lorry hit his bike in the rear when he reached Kottara flyover. He fell on the road as a result and sustained injuries to his head. The lorry which caused the accident fled from the scene. Police have succeeded in taking the lorry into custody near Surathkal as the colleague of Mahesh who was behind the bike took note of the registration number of the lorry and informed Surathkal police.
Mahesh Bhat was rushed to A J Hospital in a serious condition, but he died late in the night.
He was proactive in local religious and social organizations including Mudipu Ganeshotsava committee and Brahmari Yaksha Mitraru. He has left behind his father, mother, wife, brother, child, and a large number of friends and relatives.
