Bengaluru: Senior citizen attacked with dagger, robbed of ornaments

Bengaluru, May 19: A 65-year-old man on morning walk was stabbed with a dagger by bike-borne miscreants, who robbed him of his gold chain and ring. The incident happened at HRBR Layout here on Friday May 18.

The injured senior citizen is being treated in a hospital.

Chandrashekhar, a contractor from Kalyananagar here, was the victim of this attack. He stands admitted into the intensive care unit of a private hospital for treatment as he has suffered critical injuries.

Chandrashekhar is in the habit of going on early morning walk. On Friday, three motor bike-borne miscreants came to him when he was on his usual walk, and asked him to hand over his gold chain and ring. Chandrahskhar resisted the demand and began to run ahead at which the accused surrounded him, attacked him, and forcibly took away his ornaments.

Chandrashekhar was found lying in a pool of blood by a passerby who called the police control room. The police van which came there, admitted the man into hospital with help from the general public. The victim's son thereafter filed complaint about the incident in Banaswadi police station.

The police said that they have verified the CCTV footage in the area and expressed confidence of arresting the culprits soon.

    This type of incidents taking place all over the world. Unemployed rogues,drug addicts are the cause for the incident wearing jewelry, carrying cash, I phone or gsm during morning walk is a foolishness. It is better someone accompanied him/her.
