Sullia, Sep 9: State ex-chief minister Dharam Singh visited pilgrimage centre Kukke Subrahmanya near here on the evening of Monday September 8 along with family members and offered a golden aureole to the Lord, after bringing it in a procession.

The aureole weighs 1.4 kgs valued at around Rs 17 lac and has been crafted by Sudhakar Dongre from Karkala. Temple governing council president T V Bhat and astrologer Dwarkanath couple were present on the occasion.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Singh said that the outstanding achievement of the 100-day-old Yeddyurappa government is the luring of legislators from other parties, by offering them posts and other enticements. Snatching legislators from other parties is not a justifiable move. The government should have been dissolved and fresh election should have been held, if the chief minister had honest intentions, he said.

Dharam Singh added that choosing the KPCC president was the prerogative of the high command. He expressed his readiness to accept the post of the governor, if offered. "I have come here with wife, to visit this pilgrimage centre and get peace," he said.

Singh will be participating in the 'Mahabhisheka' programme of the lord to be conducted on Tuesday September 9 and then conduct 'Mrityunjaya Homa' in the home of one of the temple priests.
