Mangalore, Sep 9: The society can lift itself up from the position it is in now, if the women be aware of and awaken to the happenings and take proacltive steps. The women should take interest in making every house aware of the achievements of the present state government, advised district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar.
He was speaking after taking part in a function organised by Srimata Mahila Mandal at Srikrishna Bhajana Mandir in Krishnapur near Suratkal on Sunday September 7, for felicitating teachers.
The modern times have witnessed women emerging as leaders in every sector and revolutioning several fields. The government will be organizing a three-day function in Mangalore to showcase the achievements of the state government during its 100-day rule and asked the women to take part in the function in large numbers.
Retired headmaster Krishnaraj inaugurated the function. Al Badriya English Medium School governing council president Mutaz Ali presided. Entepreneur B R Shetty, city corporator Gulzara Banu, Bhajana Mandir president Devendra, K Harish, Indira Rajan, Mahila Mandal immediate past president Madhavi etc., were present.
Retired headmaster Krishnaraj and teacher Abdul Samad Katipalla were felicitated on the occasion.
