Kundapur, May 7: "After Narendra Modi assumed power as the prime minister of India, BJP has wrested power in 21 states of the country. Karnataka will be the 22nd state. I am 100% sure that we will assume power in Karnataka. I am going to take oath as the chief minister of Karnataka, in the presence of PM Modi, on May 17. As promised in our election manifesto, within 24 hours of assuming power, Rs one lac loan of farmers in national banks and co-operative societies will be waived off," said Yeddyurappa, president of state BJP.
He was speaking at the BJP conference at Siddapur. Continuing his speech, he said, "Rs 10,000 will be given free to 20 lac farmers who own land of five acres or less. Free graduate education, three gram of gold and Rs 25,000 will be given to girls from poor families under 'Thali Bhagya'. We will provide a minimum of ten hours of electricity to the pump sets of farmers. I will immediately sanction graduate college to Siddapur. We will also provide water to Byndoor taluk by beginning the Varahi Baladande plan. I will take special interest to resolve the issues of fishermen and will provide subsidised kerosene oil, loan facility and development of ports."
Congress is a broken house
"Today Congress has three doors to its house. Siddaramaiah, Parameshwar and Mallikarjuna Kharge will not be seen together on any stage. The infighting has begun. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is going to get defeated for sure in the constituency of Chamundeshwari. That is why he is contesting from Badami also. Siddaramaiah's defeat is 100% guaranteed in Badami too," said Yeddyurappa.
Yeddyurappa loses temper again
When Yeddyurappa arrived at Siddapur it was already late. B M Sukumar Shetty, BJP candidate of Byndoor wanted to address the gathering in front of Yeddyurappa. However, Yeddyurappa rushed to the dais as soon as he got out of the car and went straight to the mike and was about to start his speech. At this juncture, Bharathi Shetty, president of state Mahila Morcha of BJP told Yeddyurappa that Sukumar has still not spoken to the audience. On hearing this, Yeddyurappa got wild and questioned her as what they were doing till now and then allowed Sukumar to speak.
Ensure Sukumar Shetty's victory
"Party workers should undertake extensive canvassing in the few days that are remaining now and ensure that BJP candidates win the elections. The votes of people who are in a dilemma whether to vote for Congress or JD (S) should be polled in favour of Sukumar Shetty. The future of B S Yeddyurappa lies on this factor. We should forget minor differences within us and make sure that Sukumar Shetty wins the election," said Yeddyurappa.
B M Sukumar Shetty, BJP candidate for Byndoor constituency, Halady Srinivas Shetty, BJP candidate for Kundapur constituency, Uppoor, chief secretary of Raitha Morcha, Babu Shetty, president of standing committee, zilla panchayat, spoke on the occasion.
Zilla panchayat members Suresh Batwadi, Shankar Poojary, Shobha Puthran, taluk panchayat vice-president Praveen Kumar Shetty and member of taluk panchayat were present on the occasion.
