Udupi, Sep 8: A get together of entrepreneurs and professionals from Mumbai and around Kallianpur was organized on Saturday September 6, at the Tri-centenary Hall in Kallianpur near here, under the leadership of Fr Marcel Saldanha. On behalf of 'Dimensions,' Roney Mendonca, former police commissioner of Mumbai, Fred Mendonca, editor of 'Dimensionally Yours,' Dolphy D Souza,H R consultant and president of Mumbai Catholic Sabha, Agnello Rajesh Aithade from St Agnello Computer Ltd , Vinod Noronha and John D' Souza were present. Fr Vijay Lobo, Head Master and assistant parish priest, Leslie Lewis, vice president of the parish pastoral council and James D Souza, secretary were present.
Roney Mendonca introduced 'Dimensions' to the session. Vinod Noronha explained the need for the need to have an efficient net working between various Christian professionals like lawyers, businessmen etc., for strengthening the community. He sighted the example of the Jain community, which inspite of being a small community, has been running medical colleges and business houses. Although Christians run 55 % of the educational institutions, they are not as strong as the Jains, he opined.
Rajesh Angelo Aithade, chairman of St Angello Computer company Ltd, the larget Computer education company in Mumbai, and director of the Christian Chamber of Commerce said, that India is the youngest country with averge age of 26 years and predicted that it will rule the World in future. He asked the people to support each other by strengthening the net-working between them and growing into successful businessmen. To succeed in business, we must be able to understand the pains of the people, driven by a purpose, keep up the promises made to our customers, keep up the tempo of commitment and ensure that honest, hard-working and sincere people are hired in our organizations, he explained.
Fred Mendonca exhorted on the necessity to work towards achieving collective prosperity and to understand that giving is receiving, and the need to reach out to the people.
Dolphy D Souza explained the difficult phase through which the Christian community is passing through at present. We have no god fathers and we do not have musle power. So we must arm ourselves through economic power, he felt.
