Puttur, May 3: The state election commission has brought out a collection of street plays, 'Otu Hakona Banni (Come lets vote)', towards spreading awareness about their rights and responsibilities among the voters. A street play, 'Matha Maratakkalla (vote not for sale)' authored by well-known reporter and theatre personality, Mounesh Vishwakarma, happens to be one of the works selected by the commission.
CRT Bengaluru and APSA have jointly undertaken the responsibility of bringing out this work. At a workshop conducted recently under the guidance of state election commissioner, Sanjiv Kumar, a few select writers were given the task of authoring street plays for the purpose. Mounesh had penned 'Matha Maratakkilla' and a song, 'Mathadara Kelilli'. Both of these works have been included in the said publication.
Chief of Election Commission of India released this work at a function held at Bengaluru recently. This 100-page book contains 15 street plays. Vishwakarma, who has been active in the theatre activities in Bantwal, has so far written over 15 plays. Mounesh has also been active in the field of journalism.
