Modi woos farmers in poll-bound Karnataka through mobile app

Bengaluru, May 2 (IANS): Making smart use of his NaMo mobile app once again, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wooed Karnataka farmers to vote for the BJP in the May 12 state Assembly elections.

Addressing cadres of the party's state farmers' cells (Kisan Morcha Karyakartas) through his NaMo app, Modi listed the various pro-farmer schemes initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government to improve their welfare and income over the last four years.

"Nature, farmers and the government have to work hand-in-hand. We are trying to look at the agriculture sector holistically -- from soil health to taking its produce to the market (beej se bazaar thak)," said Modi in his 40-minute interactive audio-video discussion in Hindi.

Accusing the ruling Congress in the state of remaining indifferent to farmers' issues, Modi regretted that they (farmers) did not benefit from of the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (crop insurance scheme) because the state government did not care to implement it.

"Hence, it's time for the people to form such a government in Karnataka that understands the farmers' issues. Our annual budgets so far have been hailed as farmers' budgets for the measures taken to benefit them," asserted Modi.

Highlighting the importance of agriculture in the country's economy, Modi said the NDA government had issued 93-lakh soil health cards to the farmers across the state till date and fertilisers were distributed with neem coating to help the soil gain more nutrients and produce higher yields.

"In the Union Budget for 2018-19, we have increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to 1.5 times of the production cost to double the farmers' income," reiterated Modi.

Tech-savvy Modi first used the NaMo app on April 26 to connect with his party's state unit cadres, leaders and candidates ahead of the polls on May 12 and vote-counting on May 15.

Instead of visiting so many western countries in 4 years, PM would have met farmers atleast once . Why he waited for a election to meet them. Is it only BJP Kisan sangh members are feeding our nation??? He is a Prime Minister of India , Not a Prime Minister of BJP party. So concerned about BJP party and election, not nation.

    Honourable Kaamdhari Prime Minister

A total of 5,259 people, comprising farmers and their family members from 12 affected villages, have sought "iccha mrityu (right to die) as the land they cultivate is being forcibly snatched by the state government and Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL).

Farmers in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have been agitating since June 1,2017 demanding a loan waiver and better procurement prices.Five farmers shot dead during protest in MP – But you BJP government doesn't know who fired the bullets. Did anyone caught in the act or your government is waiting for farmers curse?

Don't underestimate the farmers of this nation. Your distance learning 'Entire political science' may not have thought 'Jai Kissan Jai Jawan' famous slogan coined by late Congress PM Lal Bahadur Shastri who himself fasted once in week with his family to stop the import of grain from USA and took India to self sustain to be exporter.

Modiji, Today one the of rich staple of India 'Daal' is imported from Africa and sold thrice the price. Do you have any comment why the essential commodity price is raising in mobile app?

Why the farmers of India is killing themselves despite 1.5 % the supporting price per crop in last budget?

Modiji, Please answer for 15 minutes the nation want to know.

In UP too, during assembly election Yogi and FEKU promised to waive off farmers loan. Few days after becoming CM, Yogi too waived off the loans as promised. After few months, banks started chasing farmers for payment of loan which was waived off!

Arun Jootley straight away asked "Hum currency notes nahin chaap sakte. Paisa kya pedh se girtha hai?"

    "Beej se Bazaar Thak"....
Very nice...All these 4 years of your central and states(BJP ruled or with alliance partner like in Maharasthra's BJP-Shiv Sena Combine) government....your minimum support price did not go northwards in price value.

All of a sudden now you are misusing your App power to fool the poor voters(farmers) of KAR-NATAKA"

Modi,Amith Shah,Yeddiyurappa, Ananth Kumar Hegde and Shobakka....Your navtanki's will not work in Karanataka.

Don't waste your time and bark.

No one cares for you today here because your days are numbered and electorate of most progressive state and C.M No.1 Siddaramaiya in India knows to deal with you guys very well.

By default he(Siddu) is born in Kuruba(Cattle grazing community)
But in education he has done Law.
And in politics he has presented twice the state's budget.

He knows his maths and economics any time better than all of you. Karnataka state contributed 1.5% of National GDP last year and Gujjubai got a befitting reply from Siddaramaiya when he started talking central funds given to Karnataka.

Don't fiddle or fool with him....Modi already(yesterday) got enough on twitter from Siddu (poor chaiwala 56" then in 2014 & now shrunk to just 26" look at his face now!) at the receiving end and now today one more App-Drama startred.
