Doha: Milind Gunaji, Palomi Ghosh to attend May Queen Ball on May 10

Doha, May 1: Bollywood celebrities Milind Gunaji and Palomi Ghosh will attend the 18th annual May Queen Ball to be held on May 10 at the Radisson Blu Doha from 7.30 pm onwards organized by Goan Welfare Association in collaboration with Orbit Events and Marketing.

“The highlight of the event will be crowning of May Queen. Every participant to the contest will be gifted with fabulous prizes like gold necklace, gold chain, airline tickets, wrist watches, electronic items, two nights stay at Grand Hyatt, dinner/lunch hotel vouchers, cosmetic sets and many more valuables,” said Goan Welfare Association president, Simon D’Silva.

Forefront, the most celebrated live band from the western Indian state of Goa, will be another highlight of the show along with DJ Glorio. Updesh Swar will compere the event.

Milind Gunaji is an Indian actor, model, television show host, and author, most known for his roles in Marathi and Hindi cinema. He made his first film appearance in 1993's Papeeha and has since performed in over 200 films and acted as the host of the Zee Marathi channel travel show Bhatkanti. Gunaji has served as the Government of Maharashtra's brand ambassador for forest and wildlife. Currently he is the brand ambassador for Hill Station Mahabaleshwar. In 2009, he was named the brand ambassador for the Novel Institute Group's NIBR College of Hotel Management. Currently Milind is seen in Everest on Star Plus. He has also made a brief appearance in South Indian cinema playing important roles in two movies Aalavandhan (Tamil) and Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum (Telugu). He first gained widespread notice in the 1996's Fareb in the role of inspector Indrajeet Saxena. The role gained him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Performance in a Negative Role. He has served as a travel writer, brand ambassador of Intiamatkat Tours - Specialized in Europe and India tours! and writing a weekly column for the Marathi paper Lokprabha. In 1998 he published Majhi Mulukhgiri, a compilation of his Lokprabha columns.

Palomi Ghosh, the lead actress of National Award winning film Nachom-ia Kumpasar. Her upcoming Hindi feature film “Kadakh” is currently under post-production. Palomi Ghosh is an Indian actress who discovered acting through theatre electives at North Carolina State University that encouraged exploring acting in Bollywood. She has been part of an Australian film called ‘The waiting city’, an Indo-American called Gandhi of the Month starring Harvey Keitel. She has done advertising work in Mumbai for brands such as Tanishq, SBI, and Idea etc. She is also a theatre professional. She played the part of Dona in the national award winning film ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’, through a singing and acting audition. She went into the film blind, having not seen a Konkani film before. What peaked her interest most that it was a film based on Jazz music. Konkani Jazz has become one of her favourite music genres, says Ghosh.

During the event, a grand world release of Nachom-ia Kumpasar audio CD will be released for global distribution in the presence of director Bardroy Barretto along with Glen Barretto and host of overseas dignitaries.
