Udupi, Apr 28: In a criminal case registered against RTI activist T J Abraham in Udupi court with regards to defaming minister Pramod Madhwaraj, summons has been issued to Abraham.
T J Abraham had accused Madhwaraj of availing a loan of Rs 193 crores sanctioned against his property which is worth only Rs1.1 crores in a press conference some time ago. Abraham had complained to finance minister Arun Jaitley and the governor of RBI also about this issue.
Pramod Madhwaraj had filed a private complaint against Abraham in first additional civil judge and JMFC court saying that Abraham has maligned his status due to this false accusation and a case was registered under column 500, 501 and 109.

Pramod Madhwaraj had sworn statement on April 21 in the court in this regard. Entrepreneur Ullas Bhat also gave witness for Madhwaraj. The court, which conducted an inquiry on this case, registered a criminal case against Abraham.
Civil judge Manjunath S M has issued a summons to Abraham on April 27 and has asked him to appear in the court on July 5. Advocate Shantharam Shetty argued in favour of the minister in this case.
