Mangalore, Sep 5: The eighth national 'Thenkana Yakshotsav', will be inaugurated at 4.30 pm on Saturday September 6, at the Town Hall by Yaksha Manjusha troupe.
The troupe is staging the Yakshotsav for the eighth time in the city. The group has toured the whole of north India over the past three years, in association with the Oriental Bank of Commerce, Karnataka Bank, Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India and other social welfare organizations, said Vidhya Kollyur, director, Yaksha Manjusha, at a press conference on Thursday September 4.
Yaksha Manjusha has staged 89 Hindi yakshagana shows over the past three years of over a 100 shows held all over the country. Yakshagana episodes of 'Panchavati', 'Shambavi Vijaya', 'Bheeshma Pratijne', and 'Narakasura Moksha', will be staged during the event, said Kollyur.
Puttige Raghuram Holla, Padyana Shankaranarayan Bhat, and P T Jayaram are the playback musicians in the Yakshotsav, while Vidhya Kollyur, Ramakrishna Navada, Harinarayan Bhat Yedaneer, Chandrashekar Dharmasthal, Laxman Kumar Marakada, Venoor Bhaskar Acharya, Vishwanath, and Venkatesh, will assist the troupe.
