Mangaluru, Apr 26: Srikar Prabhu, independent candidate from Mangaluru South constituency, said on Thursday, April 26 that though he is not contesting from BJP, his ideology remains the same.
Addressing media, he said, “I was expelled from the BJP during the 2014 general elections. I had asked the reason behind my expulsion. I have not received a response till date which an insult to my supporters. Even after my expulsion, I never spoke against BJP which could tarnish its image,”
“There was lot of confusion in BJP in the selection of candidates. They were seen fighting each other in social media to get party ticket. Congress and BJP both have not fielded right candidates,” he added.
“I have been in social service for the past 33 years and people approach me to help in their work. I have worked for the BJP and with the same ideology, I will contest this election. I may not contest from BJP, but my ideology will never change. I have let people know about my future plans which I feel was effective in changing people’s mind. I am sure of receiving good support from people,” he said.
“My nomination was accepted yesterday. I have chalked out a 10-phase strategy for the upcoming election. From the inauguration of the campaigning vehicle to the nomination and the procession, we have received positive response from people which is a good sign,” he concluded.
