Mangaluru Apr 26: A people's manifesto has been prepared by the Congress after a detailed discussion with officials, experts, representatives each from labourers, farmers, industries in six venues, Mangaluru, Hubli - Dharwad, Bengaluru, Gulbarga and Chitradurga, said former chief minister Veerappa Moily here on Thursday April 26.
Addressing a press meet, Moily said that national Congress president Rahul Gandhi will release the party's manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls here at TMA Pai Hall on April 27.
"Manifesto release programme will be held in a unique way, as this will be comprehensive manifesto which is meant for people. Our manifesto committee made overall discussion in making this a people-friendly manifesto. Discussion along with officials, experts, representatives each from labour, farmer, industries took place in six venues, namely Mangaluru, Hubli - Dharwad, Bengaluru, Gulbarga and Chitradurga."
"Discussion took place in three phases in which we have focused on several issues relating metropolitan cities during drought, traffic management and many more relating to education, farming, horticulture, tribals. Even the profile is made under the theme Vision 2025 of each district which focuses on overall development of each district by the end of 2025. Also a booklet called 'Prathibimba' which carries the information relating to the funds, beneficiaries of various schemes is published," he added.
He further said, "This will be a complete comprehensive document, apart from promises and future course of action. This is a people's manifesto in which lot of thoughts have gone in to it,"
District Congress president Harish Kumar, U B Sabhapathi, Ibrahim Kodijal, Shashidhar Hegde and others were present.
