Mangaluru, Apr 26: Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said that the Congress has never betrayed him and he would continue work for the party.
Addressing a press meet at Congress office on Thursday, April 26 Rai said, "Youth Congress has nurtured me and never done injustice to me. It has never betrayed me. It is a human tendency to feel bad when denied a party ticket. I worked in Moodbidri after Abhay Chandra Jain asked me to. I was not expecting a ticket though because current MLA Abhay Chandra Jain was still campaigning and worked in the constituency,”
He further said, "I met Congress president Rahul and he asked me to work for Indian youth Congress in strengthening it. This role is more than everything to me to work for my party,”
"When I came back from Delhi I was accorded a rousing welcome from youth Congress members and local leaders. I felt that I never lost anything and the continued support I am getting is part of my success," he added.
Regarding mass resignation of Youth Congress members he said, "Today along with district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and district Congress president Harish held a discussion and has rejected all the resignations. We want Rahul Gandhi to become our PM. Our main goal is to gain upper hand in 8 constituencies in the assembly polls.
District Congress president Harish and other office bearers were present.
