Bhatkal, Sep 3: Bharatiya Kisan Sanga will launch month-long nation-wide Farmer Awareness March on Friday, September 5 in the city urging to fulfill their demands and to bring awareness on agrarian crisis.
Speaking in press conference, Vasanth Chandavarakar, district president of the association said that march will visit all taluks of the district in three days. The march will be flagged-off at Hanumanta Temple here on September 5. State leaders Vinyachandra and BK Ramesh will participate in the launching programme.
Shridar Hebbar, general secretary of the association informed that march will urge the government to introduce Special Agriculture Zone instead of Special Economic Zone and to respond to farmers problems during the campaign.
MLA JD Nayak has announced his support to the march. Nagaraj Hegde, Sridhar Shetty were present.
